I chose to get my new Genesis GV70 ceramic coated (out and in). Dave is a genuine professional - clear explanation of options, benefits, costs etc. I was able to make the right choice for me and results are outstanding. Dave is booked up quickly but the wait was worth it! Highly recommended - will continue to use for regular valet maintenance. Professional, honest and great communication - car is in great hands! Service: Auto detailing

Absolutely over the moon with how amazing my car looks and with the knowledge that the protection will last with the fantastic job that has been done on it.

Anyone who has ever tried to find a good detailer will know two things: 1. You get what you pay for; there are no shortcuts to a good result. 2. Experience counts for a LOT. Having all the flashy products and tools doesn't mean anything if you don't have the skills and experience to know how and when to use them. On both these points, Ideal exceeded my expectations, as I will recount in my visit to them this month below. When I first contacted Dave at Ideal to discuss a 'brush up' of my rather tired looking car, he suggested I drop by so he can look at what might need doing and discuss the expected results of any work carried out. The car in question is a 2004 M5, multiple owners, lots of miles, factory paint - to say it looked it's age is an understatement. Dave carefully inspected every area of the car, discussing with me how to deal with wear & tear, damage etc. I asked if I could get the steering wheel retrimmed, as it was looking very tired. To my surprise, he told me not to do it, suggesting it just needed a proper clean (I genuinely didn't believe him as I've tried to no avail in cleaning it, but I decided to trust his experience and leave it). After talking through the options available, we set a date for the car to be dropped off and work to begin. When I first bought the car, I was told the paint was a metallic blue, but on a sunny day all I could see were micro-scratches, swirls, and a cloudy layer of dead paint. I knew that short of a total respray, this car was never going to look anything like it did when it rolled off the production line nearly two decades ago. Dave rightly warned me of this, pointing out what paint correction and detailing can solve, and what it can't solve. He made sure I understood this before we agreed to carry out any work, so I knew what I was paying for and what I could expect from the result. A week later I'm told the car is ready. I'm not sure "ready" is the word I'd have used after seeing the results. Perhaps "transformed" would have been more accurate. "IT'S METALLIC!?", I shouted on arrival - maybe hello would've been more polite, but for the first time in 5 years I was seeing the car not as a 4th-hand time-worn weekend car, but as the 70,000-of-it's-day super saloon that I'm sure the original owner was so enamoured by. I probably spent a good 15 minutes just walking around the car, admiring it. The chaps working on the car were clearly as invested in the result as I was, because I noticed the little M-stickers on the wheels had been replaced (I was told the tired original ones were 'unacceptable', and having kept one as a souvenir to compare, I agree), along with the wheel nuts getting a fresh coat of paint. Everywhere I looked a perfectionist had clearly visited. Engine bay, fuel filler cap, boot, everywhere. The steering wheel that I thought was a lost-cause? Genuinely looks and feels factory fresh now. The rear wheels I cautiously agreed to be refurbished look identical to the brand new OEM wheels on the front (though on close inspection I think the rears have a better finish than BMW's). The cream leather seats also had some scuffs and light damage that needed the attention of a recommended specialist honestly I had to pull up some photos when I got home to check that the seat used to look as bad as I remember, because the result is flawless. I'll be honest, I'm not looking to sell the car, get it evaluated, or bring it to any meets or shows. The reason I sought a detailing was purely an emotional decision I just wanted it to look good, and feel like I was driving something a little newer with a few less miles on it than I actually am. To justify the extensive work carried out without a financial incentive was always going to be a big challenge, but I can honestly say it was worth every penny and some. With that said, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't struggle to sell it now. A big thank you to Dave and his team at Ideal Valeting & Detailing. Top marks from me.
