Haywards heath Market stall, man serving leaves stall wearing blue catering gloves, goes into local cafe, goes in loo, comes out still wearing the same gloves, handles 2 doors & whatever else & goes back to serving in the same gloves, binned my glazed donuts immediately. Following your response: What is the purpose of wearing gloves in this instance? is it to protect the consumer from dirty hands or the server from getting dirty hands, maybe both. Are they changed after handing dirty money or between customers? The imperative is cleanliness surely - that can be done with hand wash facilities, but gloves give the appearance of a higher standard, but why wear them into another establishment & it's loo & then exit still wearing a pair, why not dispose of them before leaving the stall & then put on new ones when you return to serving, I wasn't the only customer to comment. I ran a hotdog & pasty stall for many years before retiring, so I guess I'm (sadly) still 'tuned in' to noticing what catering people do & what I would take issue with were they my staff- rather than my paying keen attention to your 'staff', had I been a rival or mischief maker I would have contacted the local Eho directly & I would have taken photos.

we visited the Slindon patisserie stall at the Godalming christmas market. The lady in charge seemed to have very poor English and when we asked about certain cakes she said one was Almond with custard filling plus a almond flavoured danish. so when we got home we were a bit disappointed to find they were actually toasted coconut with no filling and cinnamion danish instead of almond. Not great that she didnt even know what she was selling or the flavour plus nothing was priced and both were 3.00 each and also they werent particularly that nice and didnt seem fresh or soft ( it was only 4 degs out) it does annoy me thats market stalls pay no high street costs like shops but continue to rip people off certainly wouldn't recommend or advise to go to Slindon bakery / patisserie
