Watergate is a family run business who are passionate about making this a home away from home, and everyone who works there was chatty, friendly and helpful. The rooms have an upcycled decor, so are individual and quirky. The beds are comfortable, and the rooms were spotlessly clean. The rooms are above the bar, so there is a bit of noise in the evening, we stayed mid week and it was quiet by 10-10.30. There is live music most weekends, so I suspect it can be loud then. The parking is a short walk away, and because it is an old building with a lot of character, the stairs are narrow and steep, there are a few low ceilings, and some of the floors are a bit uneven. This was a great place for me and mum to have a short break, and we loved it, and will be going back.
