The only dining option in Slaley. We were staying in nearby Rye Hill Farm and ended up having our meals on both days here. The staff is very friendly and amiable. Helped me choose my ale. The food is excellent too, and I felt it was reasonably priced. On day 1, we went for chilli beef and Crown Pie. The chilli beef was nice and crispy with a tangy sauce. The pie along with the mash potato tasted really good. It was slightly burnt on the edges, but no complaints. On day 2, we went for the special of the day - sticky lamb potato cakes with garlic dip. Crunchy and tasty, it worked really well with the dip. For mains, we went for the cumberland sausage. This was served with ample gravy and mash potato. Would recommend!
