We've been lucky enough to stay at some lovely cottages over the years as a family, and are delighted to now recommend Kaitness Cottage as one of our favourites. What a gem this is. You can tell that owner Sue has put in a considerable amount of effort to come up with so many thoughtful touches, including a very kind welcome pack. Don't normally give five stars but felt this place deserved it. Every room is presented beautifully and the whole cottage is so comfortable (especially the beds!)and cosy. The kitchen is very well stocked and as we mostly self catered, we really appreciated this. Loved using the coffee machine in the mornings too. We've never stayed so close to a town before and were really surprised at how quiet it was. The street the cottage is on is so sweet with its pretty rows of terraces, and envious views of the hills. We loved Skipton town. There's so much to do to keep everyone happy, including the teens. We visited the castle and Skipton castle woods with its stunning willow sculptures. We enjoyed canal walks and a trip to the Craven museum, where staff are so friendly. There's a very good mix of high street shops and it was smashing to see so many independent shops and eateries. We enjoyed cafes and picnics in Skipton and in the Yorkshire Dales. You are so spoilt for choice. Then after a busy day it was so nice to return to the cottage and relax in the evening with a glass of wine and board game from the well stocked shelves, or turn the TV on or grab a book and not move from the sofa! Looking forward to another stay, because we only feel like we scratched the surface really of what this gorgeous area has to offer.

Kaitness cottage is a home away from home, it has everything you desire for a relaxing week away. The cottage is beautifully decorated with plenty of board games for entertainment and a lovely warm log burner for the wintery nights. Not to mention spotlessly clean. Only 3 mins walk away from town where all the local amenities are; cafes, pubs, supermarket and pharmacies. Great location for the castle and walking into town for dinner/brunch. Perfectly located for dales adventures, we went on a beautiful walk nearby in Grassington (20 mins drive). We will be back!

Kaitness Cottage is an absolute gem in beautiful Skipton. The cottage itself has everything you could need (the bedding is pure luxury!). The cottage is a very short walk from the town centre and is surrounded by beautiful walks. We were only 10 minutes away from the castle, and were spoilt for choice of dog-friendly pubs, cafes and places to eat. The host had thought of everything and the place was spotless - absolutely will be planning to stay here again.

A perfect weekend getaway! The cottage has everything you need (and more) for a wonderful break and we only wished we could have stayed longer. The cottage is a short walk away from Skipton town and is perfect for exploring the rest of the Yorkshire Dales. The cottage is so beautiful and we spent a day playing various board games by the log fire whilst it was snowing outside. The beds are the comfiest and everything was spotlessly clean. Thank you so much, we will be back!!

I had a great time at Kaitness cottage! The house is incredibly cosy, with furniture and decorations that make you feel like you are staying at someones home rather than just a holiday house with decor thrown in for the sake of it. The accommodation if self catering and a perfect place for remote working. I comfortably worked remotely here for a week, there is a great desk space with all the plugs you need including connections for MacBooks! There is also a patio area with a table and chairs that would be ideal for working outside in summer. It was easy to get here from Leeds, just a 35 minute train and ten ish minutes walk from the station. 100% recommend!
