*Update* Sadly, this business is now closed, and currently For Sale / To Let. Fantastic food, value & experience! I've been here several times now, and have to say, hands down, IMHO they have the best carvery / roast in town, and I've tried a few. There's a choice of meats (If it's on, beautiful Pork with crackling!) and a great selection of vegetables, lovely 'large' crispy roast potatoes, stuffing balls, and side dishes (recommend trying the leek & blue cheese) and OMG proper Yorkshire puddings ..They're huge! The hardest thing is fitting it all on the plate. That's the food, now for the place itself... The Elysium has had a makeover in recent years, and has a modern grey/silver glitzy theme. Internally it's very clean, and you'll feel welcomed & very safe, the tables are well spaced apart, and they have sanitiser and gloves for each person to wear whilst selecting their food, so no direct contact with the utensils. Having excellent hygiene standards and procedures in place like this is very re-assuring given the continuing Covid situation. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and really do add to the whole dining experience. It's also nice to see a place keeping the same food quality & standards outside of the main holiday season for the locals like us to support & enjoy ...not all do! We love a good roast / carvery, and this was also excellent value, with our most recent visit being on their 2 for 15 night, but we'll have to try one of their buffet nights next!

Went for the all you can eat buffet and it has to be the worst I've ever been to. It's comparable to a school canteen. Nothing is labelled meaning what I thought was stroganoff ended up being peppercorn sauce served as a main. The choice was almost non existent to the point it could barely be called a buffet and the quality was even worse, sausages that looked like walls, a platter of unwrapped American cheese singles, fatty, gristly meat, and not one thing cooked remotely fresh. To make matters worse it was an open kitchen which allowed you to see not a single chef was wearing a hat and they were all sat on the worktops in the kitchen as they clearly didn't have to do any actual cooking at any point. The food was genuinely so bad that we went home and cooked ourselves despite already having paid.
