Pretty speechless to be honest. I travelled 340miles from down south to the area so was pretty exhausted to say the least. Time was ticking on and I did a food shop nearby, and then proceeded to visit B & M for a few other bits along with some dead man's fingers (alcohol). When I reached the checkout my 15year old daughter was asked for id? Me looking very confused queried this and was told I could be buying it for a minor??? I'm sorry but where is the common sense in this? This was then backed up by Nathan (the store manager who barely looked 16). I knew straight away that I would get nowhere with this conversation due to the 'manager' title been given to a person of no life skills or common sense life experience skills. If people would wake up and questioned things life would be back to the 'olden days'. Why would a grown man enter a store to buy alcohol for a minor but have the minor with them? If I were to think of such a thing I'd leave the minor in the car or outside and then purchase it for them. For God's sake people use some common sense!!! I know your 'only doing your job' but come on think about what your actually doing. I'm 45 for christ sake and a professional guy, again all you're say is 'well we don't know that'. Just for your information, on the actual government website: In England, Scotland and Wales, its not illegal for someone between the ages of five and 17 to drink alcohol at home or on other private premises. But this does not mean it is recommended. The best advice for young peoples health and wellbeing is an alcohol-free childhood. If children do drink alcohol (even though its not recommended), it shouldnt be until at least 15 years of age.
