We've had nothing but trouble from HSBC's Sittingbourne branch. Last year my son paid a cheque into his children's "My Savings" account over the counter. The cheque was never credited to his account and apparently went missing in the branch. It took 9 months to resolve the matter, with the staff in HSBC Sittingbourne repeatedly fobbing us off by saying they would call us back (which they never did). Eventually we had to get the Financial Ombudsman involved, who demanded that HSBC credit the missing amount to my son's account, and pay him compensation for the lost interest. Even then, HSBC still didn't apologise. More recently we went to pay my son's cash savings into his children's account, only to be told they no longer accept cash deposits into children's accounts! Utterly ridiculous. Why, then, are HSBC encouraging children to save up cash by giving them a free piggy bank styled as a metal bank safe when opening the account, if the cash can't actually be paid into their bank account? Every dealing we've had with the staff in the branch has been unhelpful, nonchalant and occasionally rude. An absolute shambles of a place.

This was my local branch after they shut the branch at Sheerness I've just been informed this branch is closing for face to face interactions and going digital? The nearest is now Canterbury 45 mins plus away , the 1 star isn't for the staff who have always been fine, it's for HSBC as a bank, shocking decision for elderly customers who prefer face to face interactions, I'm moving banks to Nat West in Sheerness , at least I can walk to them.

I have attended the branch 2 times for help with the mobile and internet banking and on both occasions been left to wait nearly an hour in both cases. They need more front line staff.. could not wait any longer without getting a fine
