Edited almost 4 years after purchase: The entire outer brickwork needs to come down as the mortar has failed all around. Just received the report back for the roof, this is in places 3x the permissible tolerances. Still so slow to rectify these extensive building defects, still being lied to and still agreed works are backtracked. Edited 24 months after purchase: still finding issues where our home has not been built to building regulations or to plan, we now find that the drainage channel around the house is not correct, the levels of the property should slope away but the front path run towards. And most shockingly of all we have now had the weak and crumbling mortar replaced 3x times in some areas and I can still scrape it out with my finger nail. Still huge delays getting work done it has been 4x months since Bovis contractors irreparably damaged our gate and we are still waiting. The work is not inspected by Bovis and so multiple appointments are required, we are at the point of hiring a Project Manager to supervise the workmen at our home as Bovis flatly refuse to do so - the nightmare continues. Edited after 18 months of purchase. Severe building defects. Do NOT recommend. 2021: We bought our Dream Home from Bovis but it has turned out to be a nightmare! We bought our "premium" property in June 2019 and it has had so many fundamental build defects! From incorrectly wired hot water tank that bypassed the thermostat causing the water temperature to be higher than the point of scalding, to having weak mortar whereby all the mortar to half the height of the house has had to be removed, the flooring upstairs has bodged noggins, not been glue or affixed and the boards fall short of ending on the joists. The stairs have not been installed properly. The patio was built too close to the house causing water ingress and damaging the Amtico flooring which has now been up for over a year and these are just but a few of the defects. Bovis employ delaying tactics, take months to book work in, 18 months from first reporting the weak mortar and it is still in progress, over a year our kitchen flooring has been up and still we don't have a date when it will be rectified. They do not monitor their contractors and even when we have highted to them that the contractors are not working to HSE regulations they have repeatedly failed to do anything about it. They have caused thousands of pounds worth of damage to our property and do nothing but argue about rectifying. I could go on for hours listing the hundreds of snags and defects we have encountered in this "premium" property, suffice to say if I could give them a lower score I would - avoid at all costs! 2018: Beautiful housing development, we are purchasing one of the properties. Yvonne in the sales office is very good, listens to you and does all she can to help.
