The Old Scout Hut

Amazing stay in an amazing house. The location of the Old Scout Hut Sidmouth is fantastic - 2 mins from the beach. The house is very modern but also comfortable and has every amenity you could need. The hosts Ben and Ruth have thought of everything and the welcome basket was a lovely touch. They also recommend local restaurants and places to visit , can't praise them highly enough. We will definitely be back for another stay.

Absolutely beautiful place throughout, the hosts really have thought of everything! The Scout Hall is in an ideal location with just a short walk to the crystal clear sea, shops and pubs/restaurants! It was lovely to have everything you could need within walking distance. Our family definitely enjoyed our stay and we would highly recommend - sad to leave but will book again soon!

Fantastic holiday home! Modern, light, airy, very well-equipped & thoughtfully redesigned, our advice would be to book this beautiful space immediately. We have stayed in the Sidmouth area many times and our usual search is for 3 bedrooms with parking. To our delight & amazement this time this wonderful new listing is what came up. The restoration of the Old Scout Hut in itself is fascinating (passing locals are full of approval), but for comfort, location & overall splendor you will find nothing to match. We all loved the luxury of the underfloor heated shower room, the double height space & internal balcony, the drama of the lights inside & out, with a morning coffee on the external balcony a particular favourite. Our springtime stay to celebrate our Silver Anniversary was fully appreciated by our grown-up family, who were also keen to point out how they'd have absolutely loved it as children too. Ruth & Ben have designed & equipped the Hut for all ages, e.g. for when you walk back from a day on the seafront there's a handy external tap & back entrance via a generous utility area, ideal for dealing with all your beach gear & little ones in one go. Somehow there's masses of space for everyone to enjoy simultaneously, yet it's cosy, warm and welcoming too. Hosts readily contactable & very helpful. Only minutes walking from Sidmouth's lovely coffee shops, esplanade & beach, a very special place indeed to be enjoyed by all. Thank you!
