A good choice of cask ales in a warm cosy friendly enviroment, and a excellent landlady ,made you feel so wellcome from the minute I stepped in the pub.

The beer range was still good, supporting local breweries atbvery reasonable prices for a town centre pub.
The food in the restaurant was top notch, great menus, well sourced food and cooked well.
But the staff? Well, they really made the place somewhere to go to.
Reason for only 4 stars? I suppose there is always room for improvement, or so I've been told.
But now temporarily closed and all the staff have lost their jobs. Hope the new owners understand what this pub gave the community and do not change it much.
