We've been to this pub so many times in the past, but since leaving the area, this was our first visit for about 3 years. Pleased to say all is still great! It's a typical Marston's pub so if you're expecting cordon bleu this isn't the place for you, but if like us, you're in town and looking for a pit stop for lunch and don't want anything fancy, it's perfect! They have a great range of drinks, the real ale is well kept, the place is clean and tidy, there's a good choice on the menu and the service was great too. Big thanks to Nathan who epitomised service with a smile! We were lucky enough to be able to sit in the beer garden, which although suffered a little with road noise (it's in the centre of a town, it's to be expected!) is a lovely sunny spot and the sun actually graced us with its presence! Really can't fault it, five stars from me!

Superb Sunday roast- so tasty and can't wait to return.Friendly and helpful staff, efficient service and a clean and tidy pub.The food's always truly scrumptious! Thanks and a huge well done to Jane and her team for always a fantastic job UPDATE on Sunday 30th October 2022: Just back from my local The Peacock pub in Shrewsbury and just adding two outside photo's of todays stunning roast beef. Was sooo tasty once again .I tried a roast at another pub two buses away on the other side of shrewsbury upon coming out of tge lockdowns on a saturday, it was okay but nowhere near as tasty as the peacocks Sunday roast. Would highly recommend! If you're on holiday, mini break, passing through, or live locally and you want a tasty sunday roast: this is the place to go and best to book beforehand and tell them Nadine recommends their roast! It's that tasty I can never eat it quick enough. There's also a vegetarian option aswell. I'd recommend the outback beer garden aswell, it's a beauty! Even lovely at end of October in the warm sun. One happy customer, and thanks again to Jane and her hardworking and friendly team, on a job very well done

Good local pub with a decent choice of real ale and an inexpensive menu. A fair choice of pub fare staples. Good service with friendly and helpful staff
