I used to be a local customer of this post office for many years, however after moving into the center of Shrewsbury I now only use it in passing, while I appreciate the challenges of being a small local business it has been disappointing how on more than one occasion the owners like to alienate "customers" that walk through the door with pre-purchased postage items. I have been in Retail for more than 30 years; my rule has always been that regardless of whether a customer is buying from you today or not the moment they enter your premises they should be treated with respect and as a potential customer. Both the owner and their staff seem to have gotten into the mindset that just because a "Post Office" customer has purchased their postage online and wants to drop off their packages at their location, that they are the "enemy" of their small local business, this is obviously the wrong attitude to have and foster amongst your team. Due to this poor attitude, I am now motivated to write this review and to also never visit this local branch again. This is what poor attitude and service does for your business, what was even more telling was that after I left the local post office a fellow "customer" that had overheard my service stopped me and told me that they also had experienced the same negative service when trying to drop off pre-purchased mail. So, I'm sure this alienation of potential customers is widespread and has been going on for a while. So, a message to the owners, remember customers become customers as soon as they enter your premises, not just when they purchase from you, you represent the post office because you have that sign above your door, don't take out your small business challenges on the potential customers that could increase your revenue. Just in case you don't read this, I will print it off and drop it off to your location. Regards, (From one retailer to another)

Excellent service and friendly helpful staff They renewed my Driving Licence in under 5 minutes (10 year photo expiry) This was after spending at least 2 hours on the rubbish .gov website - which failed !! Nice post master was able to tell me why (unlike .gov website) Lots of local parking too.

Obstructive individuals who seem to rather enjoy making lifestyle difficult for customers - 'computer says no mentality' . I visited today to post a international parcel and was told by the staff 'I'm unable to accept it as the date on the document states the 8th of February dispatch a few days ago'. The document I printed from Parcel2go automatically included that date as that's when I purchased the postage. I was informed that the day you print the postage label is the day you have to drop it off (it was printed in the evening on the 8th so impossible to drop off anyway). He then suggested to drive out of town to try my luck with Parcel Force direct - I didn't and took it to Radbrook Post Office who accepted it without issue. I paid slightly extra to use Parcel Force and my local Post Office but with hindsight should have stuck with UPS or FedEx - one barcode scan and that would have been the end of it with them. With 6000 Post Offices apparently facing the chop with more to follow, staff and obstructive service like this will hopefully be confined to history.
