I bought a down jacket from Blacks in Shrewsbury, it was the only one because I had been informed it was a special order the customer did not want (Obsidian Acid colour). I was happy with the price. I decided after a couple of days I wanted another colour( Navy Orange). I collected it from their shop in Shrewsbury. I was not feeling too well that day so was dithering about which one to take. Eventually I chose the other colour that had come from general stock. They clipped off the label and I walked out, After looking in a mirror up the road, I realised I wanted the original colour(Obsidian Acid). I went back to the shop but it had closed because it was after 5.30. I went in a couple of days later on Saturday, and explained everything to an assistant. He said I will put it aside and talk to the manager after the weekend. I went in on the Tuesday and spoke to the manager. He told me head office had requested the jacket and it was no longer available. I went in the shop on Thursday to browse and I noticed the same jacket that reportedly had been sent to head office was back on the rails for sale. I asked to speak to the manager and I was told he was busy. The manager told the assistant on the internal phone system that the jacket I wanted had been ordered on the internet. So they could not exchange it. I informed the assistants that I was told that 2 days ago, it is now on the rails for sale, and you are telling me it has been ordered on the internet, when it is not even your regular stock. I told them I would accept it if you had just told me you do not wanted to exchange the jacket but I do not like this unacceptable behaviour. I reported the shops behaviour to head office and they agreed with me it was not acceptable.
