Clarkes personnel have no humanity. Re a divorce case from 2011/12: I still haven't received the main part of my financial settlement (a pathetic one) almost 11 years after Court day! I was 47 then and I am now 58! One of their Solicitors (Richard Gabb) messed up and they have not taken responsibility all these years and just batted away my formal complaint. I have felt suicidal and have recently been forced to use the Foodbank. Yet the former family home was valued this year at 375k! Clarkes' Solicitor had very patriarchal attitudes! It is despicable that with all the assets I and my ex husband had + 17 years together, I have been left longing for closure to the whole sorry nightmare. At Court in March 2012, an 'unsure' Deputy Judge confirmed I would get around 30% of our joint assets but said that this would be 'ok'. R Gabb did everything to suit the other party including not mentioning his own business assets which should have gone into the pot. When I challenged everything, RG stood his ground. He might as well have acted for my ex-husband! Extra general comment: I have no faith in the legal system. When I first left, my ex-husband kept collecting the children from my house (against their wishes) so that he could be called main carer and so that he would receive the child benefit. Can you believe he won a Child Tax Credit appeal, being deemed main carer????? ........ as well as being a business man and having his own business whilst I, who had taken a career break, to bring the children up from birth as no help was around, was considered a nothing and a nobody!!! My ex-husband's salary was too high for him to be eligible to receive Child Tax Credit but that didn't matter - he didn't bother to tell me that I could have been claiming it. He also managed to get the child benefit for our younger child so that meant he didn't have to pay maintenance. R Gabb didn't stand in his way or challenge this.
