        This statue of Clive of India stands in the Square in Shrewsbury Town Centre...It was cast in bronze in 1860,it commemorates Robert Clive of India who was born in Shropshire in 1725.He was a MP in Shrewsbury from 1725 until his death in 1774...He spent a lot of time in India during which he founded the British Empire...He was also the Mayor of Shrewsbury between 1762-1763.....
