Visited Bowbrook Allotment on Sunday 07 August 2020 when it was open as part of the NGS ( National Garden Scheme) for charity On arrival at 16:00 we nearly nearly missed the entrance as some of the yellow NGS signs had been taken down . However we turned around for a second look and spotted the entrance and the lone sign. The Allotment Community has a large metal gated entrance with a large car park running left across part of the front of the allotments. A trail had been set up around the plot of 93 (? ) allotments. The community workers let use a plastic covered version of the trail and map. The walk around was lovely as the rain from earlier in the day had passed over . The walk is flat and had plenty of benches around for a restful and calm . There are lots of nature friendly aspects to the boundary of the allotments with things like insect homes . We had a couple of chats with Allotment owners who were very friendly and gave us insight into the operation of the place. One Allotment near the car park has been set up with raised beds for a long term gardener who was finding difficulty gardening in another Allotment. A lovely restful and supportive place well worth the time to visit , a favourite Google maps place.
