Appalling Customer Service I specifically ordered from Champion & Reeves with express delivery for a last-minute gift. The shipment arrived 4 days later than expected; they had posted it late, and only via 2nd class mail instead of express which I had paid for. Mistakes happen, of course. However, after raising a complaint with C&R I was met with their extremely unprofessional and flippant approach to customer service: - They initially admitted the error, but gave a non-apology accompanied with excuses and a weird brag about their "low error rate" (which is obviously irrelevant). Instead of offering to at least refund the shipping costs, they offered an unspecified discount on "any future order, if this helps". - After re-stating my complaint and requesting a refund, they responded that returns weren't possible due to COVID and went on to claim that the delivery issue was the fault of the courier (Royal Mail), which is simply untrue. Given that they had already previously admitted fault, this seems to be nothing but a dishonest attempt to shift blame onto a third party and avoid dealing with the complaint. - After a third response from me, C&R finally offered to refund the *difference* between express and 2nd class postage. In my opinion this should have been their first response instead of excuses and deflections, as it's the absolute least they could honestly do. - Finally, after a further complaint from me, C&R decided to offer me a refund if I returned the items to them (in spite of what they'd previously said about COVID). I really think that the standard of a business is set by how it deals with a complaint, and in this regard Champion & Reeves have set a very low standard indeed.

It's legit! My elderly Dad has been lamenting the disappearance of Callard and Bowser for donkeys years, and after years of buying him nougat from around the world, I found these guys. My initial purchase was met with misty eyed recollection by my Dad, especially when it came to removing the individual wrapping of the nougat. Such a success means he's getting then entire range for Christmas! And when my email filter got the better of my order confirmation, a quick phone call to Jacqueline put it right, plus she gave me an overview of the company and what they remember of C&B! Awesome service, lovely people, will continue to buy from here!
