Went to Aleoli at Market Hall. Really unpleasant experience. I am not usually one to complain, but we ordered the calamari as one of the tapas and it really was not good. One half of the dish was okay, the other half of the calamari was dense and unpalatable! I mentioned this to the server (a really young server who I felt sorry for, actually) and it was not passed on to anyone more senior. Then I asked to speak to someone more senior and was told "the manager is busy!" Could not believe my ears! Surely when a customer wants to speak to someone they can find 2 minutes to address it. I asked again and out came this fuming lady who just seemed ready for a fight! I had been nothing but polite and she just spoke over me and was actually rather rude, and took my comment as a personal affront when I had said "half the calamari was fine, the other half no so great." I was not at all chasing for it to be taken off my bill, just simply offering a customer opinion (which should be taken seriously in the service industry, especially if improving your business is important to you). To be honest, the rest of the tapas was quite enjoyable but the whole experience was made unpleasant by the poor service, and the horribly rude manager/chef. Also, literally every 5 minutes we had a different server coming to our table asking to take away our dishes when we were clearly not finished! Honestly not overreacting when I say every 5 minutes. Where you short on tapas bowls? Hahaha. Would like to go back, but really felt annoyed about the rude manager, should really address this because the rest of the meal wasn't bad!
