As founder of PsycHR a specialist mental health training provider and HR consultancy, I have always very pro flexible working. I support it for wellbeing, work life balance, think that it is a more dynamic and commercial way of getting work done. So in April of this year I invited The Job Share Pair along to co-host a podcast with me, as they are for me THE GO TO EXPERTS on job sharing. We covered, how to pitch job sharing to your boss, benefits, difficulties, handovers, the socio-economic impact, the future world of work and much more. As expected they had a wealth of knowledge on the topic, no matter what questions we asked. What was unexpected, was what an absolute pleasure it was working with them, they are massively personable and we actually had fun! I have worked with Hannah and Rachel in the past so when I was considering a more flexible solution for myself as a working mum, I contacted them to discuss their view and query my initial thoughts with them. It was a truly eye opening experience. Their passion on the topic is infectious and it allowed me to consider options Id never have seen as a workable solution. I spoke to Rachel and Hannah to discuss the practicalities of how I might be able to share my role. Rachel and Hannah use their own experience as job sharers to inform how they educate others on the topic. I had a list of questions for them - but they had answered these before I even addressed them. They really know their clients and the flexible working market, with numerous statistics, case studies and recent news to support their case. Undoubtedly subject matter experts in this space.
