Met up with old friends and just looked for a place to have some food and drinks and a long chat. Happened upon the White Bear Inn, and although we had to wait for the kitchen to be ready, we had a lovely time chatting. Food was way beyond our expectations, especially for my friends who were vegetarians. I had the creamy chicken pie which was really good and was a sizeable portion. Really friendly people running the place and service was good. Pricing was reasonable and portions were good. Everyone was happy with the quality of the food. Highly recommended. Noteworthy details: Did not stay here as I was meeting friends and passing through. There are parking bays opposite the Inn.

Lovely inn, and great pub. In the pub, nice atmosphere, friendly staff, good food and drinks. The room we stayed was super comfy, decoration was cute, everything was clean, and we were welcomed with two small chocolates over the bed - it was such a nice detail. Great place to stay! Side note: it's a pub, so on Friday music was out loud by 11pm - which was really ok. Rooms: The room with big windows face the high street, so it might be noisy very early in the morning (when we stayed, there were noise from people cleaning the street at 6am). But the windows are nice, and the room is very spacious and comfortable - if you sleep heavy, you will be fine.
