Lovely shopping experience, as someone who knows next-to-nothing about fabrics or sewing, I'm just a keen amateur. They were warm and helpful and knowledgeable, and found me what I needed in no time.

I've waited weeks for this shop to be open when I've gone past (Covid, I guess) and went in today. I asked for Calico and asked about its gsm weight - they had no idea. I was told they just get the material in and sell it. I was at the desk to cut and pay - I even said I was happy to pay to keep shops like this open although the cost was double. The old fella/owner was then quite challenging and while I said his shop cannot be compared to online shops like ebay, the option still exists for customers to choose but I chose to buy from his shop. As soon as he heard 'ebay', it was like a mental illness switch in him that flicked over and he told me he didn't want my business. So it's not online business that's killing his shop, it's his 1930s Arkwright attitude and his near complete ignorance in what he sells. I fear genuinely his internal fight on what ebay/online shopping means to him is spilling out into sone mental/social irrational behaviour. I'd still buy from him - if only to pay for some help for him. I wish him well.
