This playground is split into two main areas separated by the footpath the goes between, both of these are also split again - one includes a skate park type thing, the other includes an area for the very small people. Kids enjoyed the playgrounds, especially the one that included the smaller playground as that area had some small hills and rocks to hide, run and climb round. Unfortunately, what let it down was that some of the equipment was broken and there was also a lot of broken glass. Not something you really want near where your kids are playing...!

There are three play areas for different ages (and a skate park) in close proximity to each other in Hackworth Park. Lots of good equipment (even exercise items for bigger people), far better than anything in Bishop Auckland. Kids can spend quite a long time there without getting bored.
