Long overdue plaque to a terribly treated genius soon to be featured on our 50 bank note. As the Bof E Governor said 'Alan Turing was an outstanding mathematician whose work has had an enormous impact on how we live today. As the father of computer science and artificial intelligence, as well as [a] war hero, Alan Turings contributions were far ranging and path breaking. Turing is a giant on whose shoulders so many now stand.'

Considering what this guy did to help bring World War II to an end, it's disappointing that it took this long for something to appear in town. Great to see common sense finally prevailed and something was put up in Sherborne to commemorate him.
