Tim Shorten Music Lessons

I've been learning guitar with Tim for sometime now and have really enjoyed the experience. He is a calm and relaxed and very patient teacher, which makes things so much easier, especially given that I have difficulty allocating time to practice. He is very good at selecting songs to learn and is happy to look into songs or artists that you may have an interest in learning. Totally recommended to anyone in the local area interested in learning to play

We were looking for a local guitar tutor for my son who had been playing for some time but wanted to enhance his playing and also measure his improvement to use as part of his 'skills' section of his Duke of Edinburgh Silver award. Tim was also very helpful in completing the necessary reviews and paperwork required for the Duke of Edinburgh scheme in a timely manner. We were very pleased with Tim's tuition and patience and his ability to show the best way to play all the songs that he wanted to learn from a pretty eclectic selection. It was also very beneficial being able to play with somebody else with the skill level that Tim has to really bring out the best in his playing and we would recommend Tim without hesitation to anybody either looking to pick up a guitar for the first time or looking to improve on existing skills.

I began ukulele lessons with Tim as a complete beginner but quickly progressed with his help to be able to play a number of different songs. His teaching style is very relaxed making the lessons enjoyable, even if you've not had much time to practice, and he was able to provide a wide variety of music for me to play.

Tim is a great teacher, really relaxed and friendly. I have learnt loads in a few lessons and it's really helped me to get started playing guitar and play some music. Highly recommended

I really find Tim's style of teaching relaxed, inspiring and above all very enjoyable ! I've tried numerous tutors and self teaching materials, but with Tim's help I have learnt so much and my level of play has progressed a great deal more than I could have hoped. The choice of songs, style of play are all carefully selected on ability and enjoyment, making learning fun and something you want to go home and practise :-)
