        I like this pub because I spent many a lunch hour in there whilst at Stannington College (1986 to 1989) and because it serves John Smith's Magnet. It's lost some of its sparkle but remains a decent pub for the local community. Pubs like this are fighting a continous battle of wholesale price increases and a change in drinking habits. It deserves (y)our support!

        A good traditional pub with a good atmosphere. There are all the usual lager beers and ales on behind the bar but nothing out of the ordinary. Lots of the younger end clientele get in here. Ive enjoyed the few times that I have been in.
