Far exceeded my expectations! Portion quality and appearance was a good notch above most pub grub and the service was perfect, Super friendly, super helpful. Also; if staying at the Mercure, avoid their restaurant at all cost and come here (its a complete scam, terrible food, nasty overpriced wine, rude service and stupidly expensive). After that experience we were really relieved to find The Stags Head! Well be back!

In the area, visiting family, and found this pub with a play area for our three girls. The setup is great and the food was fantastic. I normally think the kids meals are a bit rubbish, but these were great - just as good quality as the main menu (which was also brilliant). Will be trying to convince the family to go here when we're next visiting.
