I booked a table for my 60th Birthday and pre-ordered the food. Service was slow but food good.

Website says dogs welcome. They are, but not in the dining room which is where we had booked. We told you we would have a small dog when making the booking and no-one told us we would therefore have to eat in the bar which we did not want to do. We stayed, nonetheless and ate. Steak sandwich excellent. Avocado and cheese salad was a bunch of greens, three bits of avocado and hardly any cheese for which you charged 14 - utterly ridiculous. 3.50 for mediocre coffee - equally ridiculous. We found the whole experience underwhelming and overpriced. We will not be back.

This was one of my dad's favourite pubs and when he died we knew we had to host his wake there. It was wonderful. The staff were friendly and professional and dealt with the fact that over 170 people showed up for this, far above the 60 people we were expecting initially. The pizzas we ordered were truly brilliant and all 40 of them got eaten pretty quickly. I really appreciated that the staff walked around with the pizzas offering it to our guests which was lovely and made the experience much more fluid, and they also coped very well with the more complex drinks orders when we started ordering espresso martinis etc. Highly recommend
