Crookes Post Office

There's one lad who works here who is excellent. I always wish I knew his name because he's the complete exception with this place and doesn't deserve the bad reviews. He was working today (4th May, at 5.45pm). He's got incredible customer service skills, and is an absolute credit to you. Unfortunately, the same can't be said about the lady behind the till at this time. I've never witnessed such a rude and nasty person in my life - how do you find these people!?. A little boy (around 8-10) went up to the till and asked about the sign that said 'special offers'. He was clearly very shy and it took a lot. She shut him down straight away. Snapped at him some rubbish that it meant the prices there already. I saw the boy afterwards and he was shaking and saying to his mum 'it doesn't matter'. Seriously. That is not OK. I saw how much it took for him to even approach the till, and to then be shut down like that. A child. It's disgusting. The women needs sacking because she's got the empathy of a psychopath.

The guy behind the counter was on the phone and as I was stud waiting very obviously he continued his phone call for another 5 minute buy which time there were two more people waiting behind me. Very unprofessional and disrespectful. When I was served however he was helpful and helped me ship my package. Over all very displeased with the experience. Will not be coming back to this post office.

Like most others commenting here I have had issues on a number of occasions with the staff member described by others in these comments - a real shame as the young people that work there are great. Unless I need to do a particularly early drop off I'll use one of the following Post Offices that consistently give good service: -Upperthorpe -Brook Hill -Walkley

December 2022: Made the mistake to try again my local post office! The manager is a bully, obnoxious, and totally unprofessional. Insisted there is no "International economy" parcels. Unbelievable. I had to go to the Broomhill post office where they promptly accepted and sent my parcel. April 2022: One very bad-mannered, not knowledgeable, with no customer service skills, male staff member - he said he is the manager - always on his mobile making customers wait for him to finish private conversations! One female member of staff is exactly the opposite. Unfortunately it is a hit and miss who you get. Shame, this is my local post office.

Found the owner to be obnoxious, very condescending and impatient. Also often will not bother checking and over charge on price e.g large letter size charged at parcel rates. Other staff, especially younger lad polar opposite - efficient and polite. Just go to Walkley or city centre instead
