Absolutely disgusting place, My mum's partner passed away here and there was no compassion whatsoever. He fitted for three days and was never taken to hospital and sadly passed away, Personal belongings missing too. Staff extremely rude and unhelpful in what is a very upsetting and stressful time

My Dad was admitted to Moorend Place in late July 2020 initially for 2 weeks respite care. Due to his deteriorating health he became a permanent resident and all the staff and management were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. The care Dad received from all his carers was absolutely fantastic and they did everything they could to make him comfortable as his health continued to decline. Sadly Dad passed away peacefully on 10th October but I could not have wished for a nicer or safer environment for him to spend the last few weeks of his life. I will be eternally grateful to everyone at Moorend Place for helping to make this difficult time for our family as bearable as possible thanks to their experience and utter professionalism.

Had to move Mum here from another care home, during Covid lockdown, who said they could no longer care for her. Found Emma, the manager, and staff really helpful and caring. Fortunately the original care home didn't have any Covid cases, so Moorend Place took Mum in and after a 7 day isolation in her room to check she didn't have the virus, got her up and about and engaged in activities. (The previous place appeared to have left her in bed all day and night with not even a TV in her room!) Moorend Place even allowed family to visit to see and talk to Mum from outside, through an open window, which she really appreciated as this wasn't allowed in the previous place. During these visits a member of staff stayed with her to help communicate in case either of us couldn't hear/understand the other. We were kept informed of Mum's condition and we were asked what our views were about end of life care. It was suggested we came down to visit when they thought Mum didn't have long left to live. On her last night a member of staff sat with her for most of the night to keep her company. Admittedly we did get some clothes back which weren't Mum's, but my experience of care homes is that clothing is a problem unless you label everything and even then sometimes things get mixed up. We got all of Mum's belongings back and as Mum seemed much happier here than in the previous home we were so glad we had to move her. We found the staff helpful and very caring and the weekly charge was even less than we'd been paying before.
