I had to use this service, due to unforseen circumstances. I have donated items for years. I went with a small bag, hoping to be blessed with some bread and a new toothbrush and a few tins of catfood. I was Blessed alright, as I left with a very carefully thought out trolley full of food!!. I thought it was a months worth, but it was a well thought out, balanced diet of proteins, pulses and grains. It is a recommended diet I think that is to supply a certain amount of calories a week. They were also some treats like crisps, cereral bars and I was even Blessed with a small box of milk tray. Lady hygiene was supported in my food parcel, as well has other hygiene products for personal and household use. I was also Blessed with a hot meal, from the church cafe, from a manager of the charity. Please Please Please pop some food or hygiene products, baby or pet supplies into the baskets, around the area. Try and donate something nice that you would be happy to receive, god forbid, if you needed to use this 'Food Bank'. Don't just buy cheap, awful tasting food. Purchase a nice brand, that you would like to eat/use. Tinned meats and pasta sauces are needed more than soups and tinned veg!. If you Purchase a multipack of something and don't wish to consume the rest, as long as the package of the individual items are sealed, donate these, rather than bin them. The same goes for pet foods, that your Fur baby, turn their spoilt little noses up at!. I have earned my own money since I was 11yrs old and never thought I would Need to rely on a foodbank, but then an awful turn of events happened and the same could happen to you of a love one!. Ps.... if you need a food parcel and don't like or use anything in it, please donate back to the food bank, as other will enjoy it. Eg.. I received tea and coffee in my parcel and don't drink it, so I popped it back into 1 of their baskets, for someone who does. Thank you All.
