Ordered a case for a Michael May knife a month ago. Over a two week period have contacted via, email, mobile, website and Instagram but no response. I just want to know if I'm going to receive what is now a very late Christmas gift. Zero communication.

I tracked down Michael because I was looking for someone to restore a Trevor Ablett pocket knife. It was in really bad shape and it came back completely transformed. The only decision now is which of his own knives I should buy. Many thanks!

I ordered a Barlow knife in mid-January. The process of ordering was easy and I received a confirmation of my order. The website says the lead time for custom items is 4 to 6 weeks. I received an email confirming the order was ready for dispatch and it arrived seven weeks and a day after the initial confirmation email. This isn't a quibble, just a statement of fact - I appreciate craftmanship takes time and everyone has a life with other demands on their time. The knife is exactly what I requested. It is beautiful and very well made. It is a handmade tool and I can feel and see the care and craft that has gone into making it. I will cherish and use it and eventually pass it on. The cost to me of purchasing a custom made item was also very reasonable. Based on my experience, I recommend Michael May without hesitation as a knife maker.
