I gave birth here in April 2023. I was very happy with the care I received during labour from my midwives Sarah and Yvonne. Everything was clearly explained and options (where available) presented fairly, and they were incredibly supportive and positive. We were given plenty of time with our new baby to bond before being moved to the ward with 3 other beds.

Jessops and their staff are a huge credit to the NHS. In the latter stages of my first pregnancy, I had multiple growth scans due to concerns over static growth. I also attended Jessops wing once for monitoring due to concerns over reduced movement. Every single member of staff, whether they be midwives, sonographers, reception staff, vaccinators or doctors, were approachable, reassuring and professional and took the time to answer our questions. Waiting times were also generally short. I planned a home birth and went into labour in the early hours of a Sunday morning. I had arranged for a specific midwife to attend my labour but she was supposed to be working on labour ward that morning. The Jessops matron/staff coordinators allowed her to attend my labour and made the appropriate arrangements for cover on the ward. If these arrangements hadnt have been made, I wouldve had multiple different community midwives attending my labour due to handover for on-call midwives being around midday. Im sure this would have slowed the progress of my labour due to increased anxiety. Our healthy daughter was successfully delivered at home after a 10hr labour, and I had no reason to go into hospital as my stitches were done at home. Huge thanks to the wonderful staff who made my pregnancy and labour as relaxed and stress-free as possible.

The staff were lovely but it's not run in an adequate way. The departments don't talk to each other. I feel like the care is reactive rather that a support service. Prescribing doctor took over 12 hours to actually fill in the prescription. It didn't feel very private or intimate having a child here. The after care wards are not a soothing or peaceful place for someone recovering from childbirth.
