New management, fish and chips just as delicious!

As of April 2023, this chippy is under new management. Happy retirement to Joanne & Jimmy! The new owner has taken time to learn the ropes from the previous staff and Chris is still working there alongside Tina. I was worried that the food wouldn't be as good as Jimmy's, but I found it to be very tasty. The chips were proper potatoes, the sausages were freshly cooked and scraps were given with everything. The Cheese & Onion burger was still available. It was twice the size and not quite as good as Joanne's but getting there. Maybe a little more cheese and a smaller size. Perhaps a vegetable pie could be included in the menu. So welcome to our new chippy owners. You're doing great, and you've certainly listened and learned and I'm sure the Four Lanes will be a great success. ---------------------------- The best chippy in the area. Not a single bad chip to be found - so tasty! The sausages are excellent. The cheese & onion burger for vegetarians is sublime. The staff are amazing - in fact they are wonderful entertainment! Would recommend! I just wish you'd open more often! Vegetarian options: There is a homemade vegetarian option of a cheese burger - which tastes wonderful. Not a big fan of these burgers usually, but this is wonderful.

Called here as the reviews suggest it's a good chippy. You soon realise why there's big queues at peak times because they fry every piece of cod, or should that be over fry because mine was like shoe leather. And what's with the service? 4 times I repeated my order in 10 minutes of waiting for the fish to overcook, 4 times, and 2 people serving the same customers asking over again what're they're having? What's that all about?, hardly an efficient way to run a business. They weren't even busy! Just 4 people in the shop too. Glad I'm not an Owls fan cos you'd miss the kick off! So it's a no from me, stone cold peas, and gravy that could break a window with the lumps that were in there. Much better chip 'oles around than here.
