We contacted Mike after our previous contractor let us down part way through. Our home had been left unsecured, with a huge hole in the front elevation and without gas and electricity. It was the middle of winter, our basement was flooding and Mike could see that we were in dire straits. Our project was complex, requiring significant changes to existing levels, movement of earth and engineering work to the front elevation. Mike not only helped to secure the property in the first instance but then prioritised us, finding the time to discuss every aspect of the project and get it moving again. Most builders would not have entertained taking on such a mess. It didn't seem to phase Mike, he shared our vision and could see what we were trying to achieve. The new structure and materials align beautifully with the existing 110 year old house.The outcome matches our design remarkably well and is way beyond our expectations. Our house now has some serious kerb appeal and we've received lots of comments of admiration from passersby, all thanks to Mike and the team. Mike is very skilled, he is really good at problem solving and is very patient, nothing is too much trouble. We were so lucky to find Mike Hartley Construction Ltd on Instagram! We now consider Mike a friend and look forward to discussing our next project with him in the new year. We can recommend Mike unreservedly.

Mick and his team are highly, highly recommended. They overcame real challenges in completely demolishing our off shot and building a fabulous new kitchen extension complete with a new landscaped exterior. Access up our hilly garden was a particular issue but they simply found a solution to every problem and got on with it. Amazingly there was hardly and collateral damage to the garden itself and the extension they built is really lovely. They re-used original stone, cutting it to fit and laying it with such care that several people have said the new extension looks as if it has always been there. The best thing is the good communication and the fact you can have a direct conversation and Mick's attention to detail. He foresaw a few problems that neither we, nor the architect has accounted for and his planning meant that there was a solution for each thing presented with the problem so making this big project as minimally stressful as possible. Highly recommended!
