SDP Builders

We would highly recommend SDP. We contacted James early the planning of our loft conversion because we had planning conditions (conservation area) that we had to be mindful of and wanted further advice. SDP had worked in the area previously and recommend an architect to help navigate the planning process. James' help early in the process set SDP apart from other builders we spoke to about the works. James was also very helpful in accommodating our concerns about the mess during the works as we planned to stay in the house - he proposed solutions that other companies did not offer and we found this very reassuring. Between the recommend architect, the structural engineer, and SDP we navigated the planning approval with minimal fuss. The works were completed in line with the timelines James had previously described and there was someone on-site everyday so the work was always progressing. The builders/joiners were fantastic and were very patient with my many questions! They were courteous and made extra effort to be considerate as we were often around the house during the works. The experience of the builders/joiners/plasterers helped us to maximise the space available and finish the job to a high standard. The loft conversion was slightly tricky owing to the planning restrictions but SDP delivered the build to look exactly like the plans. James was always quick to respond to any queries and the builders on-site would discuss minor design decisions with us before pressing ahead with them and we were very grateful for this - consequently we have a finished loft conversion we are very pleased with. James worked well with building control and the work was signed off very promptly. This was the largest house renovation project we had ever done and SDP offered excellent advice at the start and saw the project through as agreed. We would highly recommend James and his team at SDP.

Were really happy with the work that SDP have done for us. James and his team have always been very friendly and accommodating. James responded promptly to any questions or queries that we had and was happy to discuss different options with us. We would also definitely recommend Steve for anyone wanting a new Kitchen. He was really helpful at all stages of the process and we were really pleased with final finished kitchen

I'm really happy with the quality of work carried out by James and his Team. They were very professional, prompt and always left the house clean and tidy after they had finished each day. SDP have been a pleasure to work with.

James and his team recently completed a large renovation and extension project on our house in Millhouses, Sheffield. We are delighted with the job; every member of his team was hard working, friendly, capable and trustworthy. Over the course of some 6 months, there was barely one day when there were not at least 2 people in attendance, and very often there were many more than that. As you'd expect with a job of this size, there were a few occasions where misunderstandings or assumptions were different, but these were handled with compromise and discussion. Overall we felt we probably got somewhat more labour done than we expected from the quote. The costs for additional work requested along the way were reasonable, and the few snagging issues we noted after the end of the job were resolved promptly. The work was carried out on time and to budget, with the exception of some steel inflation, which was understandable in the current climate. In summary, we are very happy with the quality of the work, and would recommend to anyone considering building work.
