Poor experience. For 2 of the 3 days there was no Internet/Wi-fi. For all 3 days there was no television. Neither of the 2 lifts in the property worked for the time we stayed There was a very strong smell of rubbish throughout the flat. This had been masked with plug in air fresheners but I had to unplug them as they irritated my asthma. The living room was directly above the bins for the entire block. The bathroom hadnt been cleaned properly. The fan was clogged up with dust and every time you took a shower big clogs of dust rained down. There wasnt enough equipment in the kitchenette. There were only 2 mugs, 2 plates etc so everything had to be constantly washed. The flat was very noisy, it is actually student accommodation and there was someone practicing keyboard a lot and other people coming back late drunk. We paid 90 a night for this accommodation a total of 270 The landlord said he would offer compensation for lack of internet and TV Initially he offered us 25 We didnt think this was sufficient as not having internet during a work visit was very disruptive as well as the other issues with the flat. We thought something more like 70 would be appropriate but suggested 50 for a quick resolution. We suggested 45 as we had broken one plate (as a result of no tea towels for hand washing and problems with dishwasher). We thought 5 to replace the plate was reasonable. The landlord said he would pay us the 45 but less 18 for the breakage of one plate and less 17.50 for the cost of wine and chocolates he left us as an apology for lack of internet - effectively compensation of 19.50. We didnt ask for the wine and chocolate and we couldnt take them home as we had lots of bags so we gave them to colleagues. We think the offered compensation is inappropriate.
