Great little tool. Put in 260 4" posts with this machine. We had a manual post rammer before which is self made, Unfortunately due to weight you need to be Arnold Schwarzenegger to use it!!! Just knackers you out. So invested in one of these to do the job! It done it well, not all ground is the same so some went easier than others. Pre made a marker hole with a bar and then used pushed the post In with the petrol rammer. Chiefly Stoney ground and clay here....Not a problem with this!!!. Not the fastest method but who cares, saves your back and shoulders from doing it manually. Only advice I give is to check all Allen bolts regularly when is use as they can work loose as with any machine. We simply had a few Allen keys kept to hand to check along the way. Using ear defenders it wasn't a problem noise wise and is very comfortable to use. Keep the thing straight!!!! Posts go In alot better if you hold it bolt upright and not on angle whatsoever. 2 tank's of fuel went on all day. 480m of post and rail fence completed in under 3 days with this and Inc removing the old. Once again smashing tool when you get use to using it. Give it a try for sure.

I hired one the other day. It was noisy, slow and vibrated itself to bits after 10 mins. I suppose these Heath-Robinson contraptions look like a good idea on paper but an auger is quicker and more reliable, especially in anything a bit harder than a garden.
