We have just returned from having a delicious meal at the White Swan Initially a bit concerned after reading some very negative reviews. There was no need to worry. The service was very good nothing was too much trouble . I had a juicy steak cooked to perfection , rocket and chips . Hubby and friend had the crab and egg starter followed by carved duck breast in hoisin sauce. Vegetables included broccoli, carrots and parmentier potatoes . All of which were tasty and cooked to perfection.

We went to the White Swan last night to celebrate my wife's birthday. Restaurant wasn't really busy so was a nice atmosphere. Food was really nice, however the staff were very rude. We were asked at 10.15pm to leave our table as they wanted to prepare it for the next day and were led to a cold side room to finish our drinks. Other people were still sat at their tables finishing their drinks so we found it all very bizarre. Obviously we were discussing the situation between ourselves about being shoved out of our seats and then we could see the staff looking at us and talking about us. Would not go back because of the staff unfortunately Especially when your paying top money....

Dissapointing first and last visit to this restaurant for our party of six recently. Menu was very safe considering its Michelin star award back in 2019 (as per window sticker) and 2022 according to the website. The addition of frogs legs to the starter menu seemed to be the only dish that raised eyebrows and prevented it from looking like any other country pub menu. There was no steak available however at the last minute a 32oz sharing tomahawk was found by the chef in the back if his fridge and saved the day. The Poretti lager ran out soon after we were seated which left us with the IPA or 40 bottle of wine. Poor planning for a Friday night... The staff were young and initially courteous but not long into our meal their inexperience became evident and then turned to rudeness when we challenged as to why we were being shoehorned into a cold table area to await our taxi which wasn't arriving for another half an hour. Some of us hadn't even got a drink as they closed the bar at 10.15 yet the hours are listed as 11pm. They did however allow us a last one as a gesture of good will... The bill was 600 after we removed the voluntary service charge of 63, purely due to the terrible attitudes of the staff that continued to glare at us and whisper about us amongst themselves, sniggering like school kids as we waited patiently for our taxi. Safe to say we won't be revisiting or recommending it to anyone we know whilst the current staff are in place which seems to be backed up by other reviews left on here previously.
