Lovely to see a bit is still standing. Some room information boards would have been handy.

Nice ruins, small area with lovely views. Car park is 2, there is a poster on the gate on how to pay, for english heritage members it's free.

It is a pleasant walk up from the village to the castle car park (there is a big 2 car park right below the castle) with fields of black-faced sheep. The castle itself is very impressive, great views out over the countryside and fabulous ruins with an intact gate house and turrets. Absolutely worth a visit.
