Booked a table for 8 for a Birthday lunch today. A great location where staff are very attentive and friendly. Had a great lunch with fresh produce and all cooked perfectly. Honestly the best restaurant roast I have ever had. Other menu choices served were of the same quality. A lovely building with a relaxed atmosphere. Will be visiting again, please thank all staff for their great work.

When checking in, we were given room 13 - one of the lake view rooms. This is one of their standard room... we quickly complained to reception as it was filthy and clearly not cleaned. The bathroom was grim, dead bugs all over the window sill, stained carpets & lampshades. It needs serious work, wardrobe door broken, missing handles from the drawers, curtains falling down. And no lake view as stated! Reception very quickly and apologetically gave us an upgraded room.. this was better until we then found stained blood on the bathroom tiles, ashtrays in the garden full of cigarette butts, hair all over the tv remote and general grime on the bathroom lino.. ended up checking out an hour after being there... beauitful grounds but never again! not exactly the way me and the girlfriend wanted to celebrate our birthdays.
