Home Instead - East Hampshire and Midhurst

We cannot speak highly enough of Home Instead. They were recommended to us by several people and we are so pleased with their care. We love the fact that the same carers come regularly, no one new comes without being introduced first and they come at a set time each day (this was important for us - we didn't want Dad going to bed at 7pm one day and maybe 9pm another day, as can happen with many agencies). The ladies are all lovely with Dad (and us!), the support from the office is excellent and they really understand how challenging it is to make decisions around elderly, dementia care. They are definitely 5*****.

Home Instead made it manageable for my father to spend his last year comfortably, and as he wished, in his own home and surroundings. We had a first class relationship with this caring, knowledgeable and flexible team, and they always went "the extra mile". Ive been with Home Instead-East Hampshire and Midhurst for about five years now, after 30 years of working in Residential Care. I felt I needed to tell anyone looking for a job in supporting people, or if you are looking for someone to assist a loved one, what a lovely team we are. What a lovely role I play as a Caregiver. We have our regular clients to visit, and time to really get to know them, not just assisting with their personal care. I support them with preparing their meals, shopping, cleaning, taking out for a walk or a drive. I play quizzes, and name games, exercises etc, or just have a good old chat, whatever they want to do. I have been able to keep my training up to date. We have a great management team who support us, but they will also support clients and their families. I just wish I knew about Home Instead when my mum started to get forgetful, Im sure she could have stayed in her own home a lot longer than she did, before needing to go into a Residential Home.

I worked for Home Instead for nearly 5 years as a caregiver and they really were the most amazing company to work for. They care for their staff as much as we cared for our clients. We had excellent training before starting there and the training was kept upto date by either physical training or online. All members of the office staff were cheerful, friendly, helpful and extremely knowledgeable. We were able to see the same clients each week and if meeting a new client we were introduced to them before we started to work with them. We were able to get to know our clients and our calls werent rushed. I used to support them with not just personal care but also preparing meals, laundry, shopping, cleaning, taking out for walks, taking our for a drive. We would also read books, play games, talk about their past and their family and just generally have a good chat. The feeling it gives when you know youve brought them some happiness is amazing. A top class company to work for.
