Pilates and Rehab Sevenoaks

I have known Mara for at least ten years having met her as an instructor at my local Pilates studio I was attending at the time. During the pandemic lockdowns we reconnected and I took up regular weekly 1-1 virtual mat Pilates sessions which helped me maintain good posture habits and strengthen my core. Despite returning to the office more regularly I have tried to maintain my weekly virtual class as it is extremely convenient and I find it allows me to continue with my regular exercise very efficiently. I would highly recommend Mara and Mike if you are interested in taking up Pilates from the convenience of your home!

I have had weekly Pilates sessions with Mike for many years and found him to be a knowledgeable, sympathetic and creative teacher. Together with my partner and grown-up daughters we have had face-to-face and Zoom classes, both on the reformer and mat-work, sometimes all of us and sometimes just one or two of us, depending on who is around. Mike's sessions follow a regular pattern that improves flexibility and core strength, but he somehow manages to make each class different and fresh. He knows our strengths and weaknesses, and tailors the class to suit whoever is participating, how we are feeling and any injuries that we might have picked up. I recommend him highly!

I did some 1:1s in my home with Mara a while ago and I recently joined a local retreat that she run in Sevenoaks with a mindfulness expert. It was a lovely morning, really well organised, with a combination of Pilates and mindfuness sessions, as well as tea and treats. I left feeling calmer and more relaxed. I highly recommend her classes but also her retreats as you can get a lot out of them even if they are one-off events.

A few 1-2-1 sessions with Mara have done more for my mobility than numerous visits to the physio. Highly recommend not only for rehab/recuperation but also for long term health. And its fun!
