No ossing. No bowing. No faffing. Toms created a definitive rationale and practice for techniques, approaches and mindsets needed for effective combat. These are gleaned from lived experience and no small amount of research and training in various martial fields. He also happens to be whip smart, massively approachable and highly entertaining. In short: his classes and guidance are an absolute asset to have in your corner.

Having trained across a range of martial systems (Tae Kwon-do, JKD, Muay Thai, Krav Maga) for over 30 years, I can say that the Kinetic Combatives approach is 2nd to none. Instructor Tom Flints clear teaching style provides a no bull, solidly practical, no frills self defence skill set. The situational awareness training should help you avoid, defuse or escape bad situations. But if trouble arises and its on the combatives principles and regular scenario based pressure testing give your best shot at protecting yourself and your loved ones. Equally suitable for a beginner looking for something that works as for experienced practitioners for whom this slots in and provides a coherent framing for what youve taken from your other training. Youll train in a friendly, safe environment with a diverse group of classmates (ranging from complete novices to instructors from other systems to serving police officers). Give it a go. Youll be better for it.

Tom is an excellent instructor. He works incredibly hard at delivering a well rounded, effective and cohesive curriculum to all his students. Whether you train with him for a day or over series of sessions, he will strive to deliver a tailored combative experience to you that will enhance the skills you already have, or alternatively, give you an excellent foundation in being able to effectively and reliably defend yourself. Tom is a realistic, legally mindful and professional instructor, highly recommended on every level.

Having trained in urban Krav Maga for a few years now I thought it was time for a change to further better my skills. I came across urban combatitives through a friend I train with so I started going to the class in Croydon run by the good Tom Flint. I highly recommend this class because The level of instruction is superb and the people you train with are great too. If your looking for a class to train, this may be the class for you. Highly recommend. Nick Hollingsworth
