Folkestone & Ashford Military Show- Disappointed to say the least. Was literally there for 30 minutes having driven for a 100 minutes to get there! Firstly, the directions to enter werent clear so numerous cars drove in through the exit. The entrance fee of 7.50 per adult was massively overpriced for what was inside. Mixed displays of pump engines, military vehicles, western/ civil war, and stands selling cheap tat. Not to mention the underwhelming fun fair. The layout appeared completely disorganised and the displays were ruined by all of the civilian vehicles and tents plopped next to more period pieces. I felt I was at a cheap holiday campsite rather than a military show. On the military vehicle front be prepared for the usual. Theres nothing there thats awe inspiring like you would get at Capel- e.g. no Sherman tanks (Capel had 4 last year). Military trade stands were also bitterly disappointing. No different from your local army surplus store. If you want to attend a decent show youre better off saving your money and going to Military Odyssey or Capel.
