Had my blood pressure taken privately and was told to contact my doctors for further examination as my readings were high, but as expected when I rang first thing, I could not get an appointment. Having had this experience before, I explained this to the person who took my blood pressure and I was told that if I give them my blood pressure readings they will want to see me. Tried given these readings over the phone and was told that receptionists are not qualified to make decisions on readings. Not sure what else I can do, Im trying to tell the receptionist I have high blood pressure for no reason and feel dizzy and getting head aches, but all I get told is to try and ring tomorrow to which I will probably end up with the same result..no appointment. The procedure is very poor, it is setup so there is no accountability on the practice as they simply wont take details of people requesting appointments, meaning they can string people along and not address the issue with their procedure. If someone rings in with a problem they should take the details and get back to them when there is an available time slot, but instead they take no ownership and simply ask you to ring back another time. Very poor and its only a matter of time before someone is seriously hurt or worse and Im sure they will have no accountability as the only thing on record will be a phone call to which the practice ensured no details were taken and all ownership was left on the patient. There should be a code of ethics to prevent these sorts of procedures in these kind of environments.

A year ago I gave 5 star. Now 2. Hard to get through on phone and don't expect to get through at 8.30. Expect to wait 3 weeks for appointment, leaving either pharmacist to help or if desperate Google then Amazon

I wish to thank everybody involved with dealing with my medical issue today. Your care and response times were nothing short of amazing, the service provided was exceptional from initial contact to hospital appointment and is really appreciated. Kindest Regards to All

I recently moved to Skerne Medical group after relocating and have been very happy so far. I have some chronic health issues in addition to a number of new health issues that have arise now in the past six months, so I have seen several different doctors, nurses and healthcare assistants and every single one has been knowledgeable, kind and competent. Ive never felt rushed and Ive always felt that my concerns were listened to, and things explained to me in a way I understood. Similarly every reception staff member I have spoken to has been friendly and helpful. Helping me sort technical issues with my online account and being kind to me when struggling with my mental health. Ive witnessed similar kind treatment to other members of the public from reception staff while waiting for appointments. It can take a while to get through on the phone, and you may need to wait a little while for routine appointments. However I have found if you have an emergency the surgery will do their best to see you as quickly as possible (usually the same day or next day in my experience). This system I feel works well given the strain and constraints the NHS service is currently working under.
