Daleslea Bed and Breakfast

We stayed at the Daleslea at the end of our 4th day on the Dales Way. It is located on the main road with a long front lawn that sets it back from the traffic. We were greeted by Neil, and chatted with Lesley as well the next day. Both were very friendly, and considerate hosts. They make every effort to support local Lakes/Yorkshire Dales businesses- from the food to the bath products- and even going as far as showcasing menus for local sandwich/lunch spots. The room was very spacious, with a lovely ensuite WC/tub (with shower). Tea/coffee and biscuits were provided in the room, with milk and bottled water available in the fridge downstairs. For the wet/waterlogged traveller, the Daleslea even provides paper to help stuff and dry out shoes/boots. Breakfast was a delicious full English, selected the night before on the laminated cards provided. They also offered to fill up our flasks, and carry down the bags, but we'd already done so. The thought still counts though! All in all, a wonderful place to stay. We'd actually crossed paths with 2 travellers en route who'd stay there the night before and raved about it. And since then, our taxi driver in Kendal did the same. Clearly, the verdict is unanimous! Thank you, Neil and Lesley, for making the start of our Day 5 so wonderful!
