Staff were excellent, very attentive. Value for money was also excellent, however I this is not a good venue for afternoon tea. Afternoon tea is intrinsically English and generally a quiet calm affair. This is a golfing clubhouse and when we were there there was a group of golfers enjoying a drink nothing wrong with that just a bit too noisey. We then had to cope with tables being moved around ready for an evening function. The staff did apologise as it couldn't be helped but it did detract from the enjoyment. Overall it was good but not the right venue.

We didn't use the Golf course, but did use the 19th hole which is in a breathtaking position. Much recommended!

I love this course for the same reason everyone does, the 18th! Having said that I recently had a very disappointing experience there. Admittedly it was a sunny Good Friday and anyone would expect it to be busy, but two and a half hours to play 9 holes is not acceptable. We had to abandon our game early. We complained in the pro shop and said we'd seen two groups of 5 out on the course and said there was a group of 6 coming down the 18th. The two people in the pro shop could not haved cared less, blaming "The Council" and saying there was nothing they could do. There would be no refund or opportunity to finish our round another day. Pace of play is so important to an enjoyable round but on this occasion we were let down by poor course management.
