The Normanby

Honestly the landlady is an absolute horror. Shes super rude and unprofessional on so many levels. I was here because Im homeless and placed here with the council. Not only does she often let herself into my room while Im out but shes very arrogant too. If I have an issue and try and talk about it, its always Well its my hotel, my rules. Basically if I dont like it then get out but like so many here, we are homeless and have no other option. Cold rooms with faulty appliances. Mold growing in the rooms but with furniture placed in positions to try and hide it. Honestly its a house of horrors. No kitchen facility access.

I would never stay here again tv doesnt work say can you manage for tonite plus you are not allow food up to your room then you see a delivery drive bring pizza and kebabs the owner shout up to the rooms . To get it plus in one room down stairs it looks like people are living in it and one young lass told us that the owner has throw then out twice and there are staying in the attic room ?? Not a nice place to stay

This was a last minute booking and thankfully Jo did her best to accommodate me. The Normanby had a very welcoming, warm and comfortable feel. All the staff I met were so friendly and helpful. This place is great value for money and, despite not having the slick IKEA feel that some accommodation has, its clean with a much more personal, traditional feel. Id originally tried to book a more corporate hotel but came away thankful that Id had a lovely stay and supported a local business
