Scorton Care Village - DMP Healthcare

My Mother had excellent care at Elizabeth House. Staff were compassionate and helpful. She was treated at all times with dignity and kindness. The decor of the home is a little frayed in places, but it is odour free and well run by effective mangers and friendly staff.

We can recommend The Bower Unit at Scorton Care Village with a Highly Commended score. The care for our mum was nothing short of outstanding. The staff kept us fully informed about choices for mum, she was happy, safe, comfortable and clean. Mum loved her meals there and the gardens are beautiful. She was occupied with many activities, sharing laughter daily, and loved having her hair and nails attended to. The staff were excellent to mum, and in supporting the family too. We thank you truly for your skills and gifts of gentle caring. An outstanding home from home.

Would have given 0 stars, the care at this place is very poor, my mother was left in a room to basically rot and ended up with pressure sores that were cavities, they didn't go and see her unless it was to feed her or she rang the bell, but then they moved the bell to the other side of the room so she couldnt access it, it was a dirty place food on the floor for over a week, no TV signal or phone signal, rang the office to see if I could speak with her on the landline but once the phone was taken down the corridor to her room even that lost signal When restrictions were in place visitors were meant to be asked to show the negative result of a lateral flow test....not once did I get asked to show it which is very concerning as to whom they are letting into a place where vulnerable people are I definately would not recommend this place, not if you love your family and don't want any harm to come to them , it's not even fit for a dog

I had a need to visit this care home in January 2019.......came out in tears..... It was filthy, smelly, dark and dismal, not a nice place at all!!!!! Now I have had no choice to accept a room for my mum who was in another care home that is closing....... Fast forward...... Wow!!! How can this be??? I visited again, my brother visited...... He didn't believe what I said about the place!! It cannot be the same care home....... Clean, bright, quiet, beautiful rooms, the staff were and are amazing...... So friendly and caring...... My experience and thoughts have changed completely..... Mum has been treated with great respect and the family too. This has to be down to a miracle in the senior team who have obviously got this place up and running.... Worked their magic wand and are now providing care of the best standard. I would like to say a huge thank you to the staff involved... Especially Silviu and Danielle. You are amazing people.... The world needs more of your type and you deserve a medal...... Keep up the good work and move Scorton on to be one of the very best...... Recommended...... Do not ignore this place.... I'm so glad I didn't and now hope mum settles and lives her years, happy, contented and well cared for by this dedicated team.
